AF Half 2015

I have loved running for a long time, but this race hit a little different for me. My dad was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia a few years ago and I decided to run this one for him. There were so many amazing runners on the course running for people they love. It was pretty emotional.

Kelli is the sweetest human - always happy!  I loved hanging out with her at the Start Line.

I don't know why I looked so mad at the Finish Line.  I wasn't!
It definitely wasn't my fastest race, but it is one of the more beautiful courses I've run!

My race time:
I was 42 out of 339 in my age group.
152 out of 1537 females.
I was 358 out of 2264 overall.
8:02 min/mi with a final time of 1:45:23.

Buraston Pond

Another fun summer at Buraston Pond!
We took some darling friends and our paddleboat down and the girls had a blast!

Yeah, peep the fact that MY kid is the only one without a lifejacket.
This isn't my first time being a dumb mom!

Visiting Grandpa in the Hospital

My dad, affectionately known as Papa, Panca, Grandpa, has been diagnosed with CLL - Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. This came as a huge shock to all of us. This is the guy that has never used a sick day in his life and doesn't even show signs of fatigue no matter how hard he works - and he is the hardest worker I know. His platelets are so low that he is bruising and bleeding from his pores, so he had to be admitted to the hospital. The girls wanted to go visit him to cheer him up.

Carsyn drew this incredible Hulk picture at school and wanted Grandpa to have it. They wrote him sweet notes - you are a hero - and gave him lots of love, which definitely cheered him up!
