Cascade Springs, Autumn and Mustaches???

The leaves in the canyons were unbelievable colors this year!  

Rod and I don't remember any other Fall season having such brilliant colors! 

We decided to take a drive up the canyon before the snow covered everything! 

 

 

Yes - I realize I am missing a picture of a child.  

Seems that it's not fun to have your picture taken when you

are older . . . 

Until we busted out the mustaches!

I have no idea why.  

We just did . . .

and it was hilarious! 

 

Beautiful!  

We hit Cascade Springs along the way . . . along with everyone else in Utah, 

which did not leave many opportunities for photos, but you get the gist!

Rivalry

These girls and "Uncle Ken" have quite the rivalry going with the Utes and the Cougars. Ken is a die-hard Cougar fan, and my girls have decided that they are hard-core Ute fans! 

They got together with Grandma and attacked Ken's house with 

all sorts of Ute stuff after the Utah/BYU game.  

Good thing Uncle Ken is such a good sport!

Cecret Lake

We hiked to Cecret Lake with our friends on Labor Day. 

It is such a beautiful place . . . but not much of a secret on Labor Day! 

All the cute girls!

Kool Mom = Kool-Aid

 I wasn't a big fan of the whole "Pinterest" thing when it first started.  

That's all I needed . . . more cute things to make and try to keep up with . . .

more ways to compete and be out-done.  

NO THANK YOU! 

Then one day, I got sucked in . . .

and it all went down-hill from there.  

I saw this really fun idea for girls hair.  

Dye a piece of hair with Kool-Aid.  

Fun, trendy, temporary . . . at the least the first two were mostly right.

I offered to be the "Kool" mom and let Carsyn and Belle try it.  

They looked at me like I was nuts, and then jumped on board.

We picked RED.  It would show up so cute in their blonde hair . . . 

that was already sun and chlorine damaged.

We followed the instructions word for word.

We soaked the ends of their pony-tails for 5 minutes. 

 It looked so cute - and was sure to wash out within two weeks!  

So, we did Camryn's later that afternoon.  She REALLY likes blue.  

Blue would be really pretty in blonde hair too.  And it would wash out pretty quick as well. 

Are you sensing the sarcasm yet???  

This is Camryn's hair - 2 months later. 

Not so cute anymore, not washing out . . . just fading to a nice . . . greenish color? 

"Kool" mom + Kool-Aid = 6 inches of  hair being cut off one daughter's hair, 

and 4 inches being cut off the other's. 

 And one daughter that was too smart to let her mom try it on her in the first place! 

Tyleigh's Baptism

This was another day that Tyleigh has waited for FOREVER! Being the youngest in her class, and the youngest sister, she has had to watch everyone else take their turn. She was so excited for her turn that she didn't even sleep the night before!

Tyleigh, we are so proud of you!  It seems to be so easy for you to do what's right!  I pray that it will always be this way for you in your life!  You are such a special daughter of God, and such a special part of our family!  We love you!
