Snowmobiling!

Rod is always coming up with fun ways to make memories with the kids and they love it! 

With all the snow we got this year, he wanted to rent snowmobiles and take the kids out for the day. 

The original plan was to rent some from a private renter off of KSL. He turned out to be a druggie. 😂

He couldn't get the snowmobiles to work for the life of him. 

After a good amount of time, Rod told him to just give us a refund. It was a fiasco!

We didn't want to waste the whole day, so we drove up to Ogden and rented from a place there. It was a whole lot more expensive, but ended up being a great decision!

We were able to snowmobile to Hardware Ranch to see the elk herd, which was so fun to see! The trail and terrain were gorgeous!

You can see just how much snow there was - and this was in March!

Camryn and Brantson rode one snowmobile, Jake and Carsyn rode another, Tyleigh and Rod shared one, and I drove my own. We had a few learning curves, but overall, everyone did a great job and we had a blast together! A blizzard hit pretty good toward the end of the ride!

The Wave!

I am not typically a "lucky" person. 

However . . . this situation was unreal!

After Rod and I left Tyleigh in Washington, we started talking about how we needed to plan some adventures and create our own bucket list. We talked about places we would want to see and visit together.  He mentioned the Wave down in Arizona. On a whim, I filled out the lottery and paid my $6 fee. A month later, I got an email saying that we had gotten a permit!

The odds are about 4% that you will ever get a permit in your lifetime! To add to that, only 64 permits are given per day and thousands apply. 

We could not believe it! No one gets a permit on their first try, but we did!

Tyleigh was only five months post surgery, so we were a little nervous, but we decided to take all the precautions and have her do it anyway.  There was no way we were missing out on this one!

We hiked it on St. Patrick's Day! Continued luck if you ask me! 

We started EARLY that morning - and it was cold! 

The road to get to the trailhead was ROUGH. So muddy and slippery. Even in 4-wheel drive, it was sketchy, but Rod did awesome and got us there safe and sound. We had to squish the kids in the back because there was no way Brantson's car was going to make it!

Turning the last corner to this view was indescribable.  It is absolutely beautiful!

We genuinely feel SO lucky to have been able to experience this as a family!

Did we take over 1100 pictures while we were there?? 

Yes, yes we did. 

The hike beyond The Wave was actually just as beautiful! There is just SO much to see!

We could have spent several more hours there, but we had other plans and needed to get home that same night. We saw the second wave, the hamburger, bighorn sheep, an arch, etc. 

What an incredible place we live in!

Truly, the best day with the best people!
