Rod and I got the bug to be outdoors as much as possible this summer with the girls. It didn't happen nearly as much as it should have thanks to gas prices and out of control heat! On Labor Day, the bug bit worse than ever, so we conned our good friends, Jayna and Clint and their two beautiful kids, Rhylan and Zaden, into hiking up to Timpanogas Cave with us. It poured all morning long, and just when we thought it wasn't going to happen, the sun came out just enough. 1.5 miles of steep trails and amazing views! The big girls were the biggest troopers ever and hiked all the way up to the top (not without complaining a little of course), and Tyleigh hitched a ride all the way up on poor Rod's shoulders. Her and Rhylan were sure that their jobs were the hardest because their feet were falling asleep while dangling from their daddys shoulders. Jayna packed Zaden up in a baby backpack - and was muscle woman all the way up! The weather cooperated, was cool enough to enjoy, and we got an awesome tour of the cave! Stalagtites, Stalagmites, and as Clint says, tight bums! Thanks for an awesome day McAdams, and for going along with our crazy last minute ideas!

We love Fall for so many reasons, but one in particular is the annual Mascot Bowl! Our girls love this crazy football game in which mascots from all over come and play against our 8th grade football team! Frank Layden was the coach this year for the mascots! It is a riot! Carsyn is my kid who will find her path in life and I'll never worry again - or I'll always worry! She is very strong-willed and likes to figure things out in her own way and on her own time. This happened to be the perfect example of this personality trait . . . We volunteered at the school carnival, and there were a lot of prizes left at my booth. The girls all asked if they could take a couple of extra toys home. Carsyn picked a handful of those little popper things. When we got home, she stuck them all over her face. Rod and I both warned her that they would leave marks all over her face . . . like Mom and Dad actually know anything!!! She showed us who was right . . . hence the "carnival hickies!" Love you Carsyn!
