Bridal Veil Falls Avalanche

We have had an insane amount of snow this winter - record breaking amounts!
There was a huge avalanche at Bridal Veil Falls on January 10, and Rod and I decided to go check out the damage a few weeks later.

Such a beautiful day up the canyon!

This is the "end" of the avalanche.  It was like concrete. Seeing this in person helped me to better understand why so many people don't survive avalanches. You could see rocks, branches, and even some small trees in this massive pile of snow. It wouldn't take much to get beat to death by the debri, let alone being buried in the snow!

The icicles in place of the falls were such a different type of beauty.

You can see the people behind Rod climbing more of the avalanche debri. It was huge.

More angles of how the snow "spilled" down the mountain.

Our friends went up in the Spring to see if there was still damage - the snow was mostly melted, but there was still so much debri left behind!

Midway Ice Castles

We decided it was time to see the Midway Ice Castles! They were incredible!

We may have picked the COLDEST night to go though! -2 degrees!!!

All of the sculptures were incredible!

It's amazing to think this is all handmade!

The changing lights behind the ice were so beautiful in the dark!

One room made our teeth glow and we could not stop laughing!
We love these memories and adventures with our kids!

Rose Bowl

Rod, Tyleigh and Carsyn are die-hard Utah Ute Fans - and so are a lot of their friends!
Carsyn wasn't able to go this time, but Rod and Tyleigh were lucky enough to be able to go to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California for the second time!

You can see how much Rod loves his Utes in this little clip!
Utah didn't win, but this group loves them just the same!

Tyleigh and Mika had to head back to Washington after the game, and got to fly!

Such a special and cool experience for them to be part of!
