Tyleigh has always had a goal to skydive before she turned 18. I love that my kids have such a great sense of adventure, so I was all for finding out how to make it happen!
There is not one single place in Utah that will allow you to jump before you turn 18. Such a bummer.
We had the amazing opportunity to go to Aruba as a family and found out that you can skydive there before you turn 18. I immediately booked it.
The phone in our hotel room rang early. It was too windy to jump that morning.
We rescheduled for another day.
The phone in our hotel room rang early that morning as well. Too windy.
Tyleigh was so bummed. We booked one more day.
And it got cancelled.
I started reaching out to people I know that are skydive junkies. One friend directed me to check out a place in Colorado - Ultimate Skydive. It seemed crazy to drive that far to jump . . .
so that's exactly what we did!
We left after work on a Friday night and drove to Delta, Colorado.
It was the best experience ever! The staff there were the coolest people. The owner, Ben, sacrificed one of his licenses to be able to jump with kids. He also has to carry an incredibly expensive insurance policy that no one else in the US is willing to carry up to this point.
He started taking his own son at age 4!
He can jump with anyone from age 7-17 and has over 12,000 jumps!
He was the perfect fit for Tyleigh's first jump!
All smiles on the drive there!
Rod was content to watch and Tyleigh was ready to jump!
There was no way I was not going with her!
Watching her come in brought Rod and I both so much joy!
This was an experience I will treasure forever!
