Tuacahn 2014

Tuacahn 2014!

Another awesome year watching some amazing plays, playing in the sun, swimming, and shopping!

We tried our hand at some "action shots" at the pool!

Nice tan, babe!

The condo we stayed at had a little miniature golf course in the basement.

12 Years Old!!!

I may just play catch up on this blog FOREVER

Our cute Camryn turned 12 years old this year!

Somehow that seems so much older than 10 or 11!

She got to go to Girls' Camp this summer, and loved every minute of it!

She has started babysitting and is in such high demand that I have become her personal secretary!

She is darling in every way, and makes us so proud!

For Camryn's birthday, she really wanted to go to Tuachan to see Aladdin.
Her dear friend, Maya, moved to St. George at the end of the school year,
so we decided to pick her up along the way and have her help us celebrate
Camryn's special day!  It was a blast!

These pictures are SO NOT cooperating, so in random order . . .

I had no idea how I was going to get a cake down to St. George in 100 degree weather,
so we found the Sweet Tooth Fairy cupcake shop and had them
make a special surprise for Camryn!

The restaurant made sure she had an extra sweet birthday with even more yummy dessert!

Camryn and Maya before they were totally high on sugar!

And Camryn and Maya COMPLETELY HIGH on sugar!

The play was darling - even if it was 1000 degrees
and we all stuck to our seats from sweating half to death!

Happy 12th Birthday to our sweet angel bug!
Love you to the moon and back!

He DID IT!

Rod ran his FIRST HALF MARATHON!

I am SO proud of him! Running is definitely more my passion than his,
but being the incredible guy that he is, he gave it a shot and trained
right smack in the middle of winter . . . and he DID IT!
We ran the Painters Half Marathon in St. George . . . together, but not really TOGETHER.
According to Rod, I talk too much when I run. He won't run anywhere near me.
What can I say? It's cheaper than therapy . . . and I've met a lot of nice people along the way!

Rod's goal was to run the race in under two hours, and he did!

My goal this time was just to run at all! I went down to St. George feeling injured and
unsure of whether or not I would even attempt the race. The competitive side got the
better of me, and I ended up running after all! I had a great, relaxed run - and had the most fun I've ever had at a race! I finished a little slower than my usual times (1:46:58), but I've never felt so great running, and I still managed to finish with the first 100 women!
While I'm pretty sure this won't be a frequently shared event for Rod and I,
we had a blast! The weather was chilly, but perfect for racing, and the vacation was
just what we needed! (Thanks for watching the girls - again - Mom and Dad!)

Congrats Rod!
