Tomato Juice Baths and Daddy Hair-do's

While we do love swimming at our house, swimming does NOT love our beautiful blond hair! Chlorine turns blond hair GREEN!!! The only solution that has worked so far? A tomato juice rinse! After spending way too much money on shampoos from the salon that didn't even work, tomato juice does the trick! . . . And it smells sooooo yummy!
It was only fair that Daddy got tortured just a little bit after he did the rinse on the girls . . . so the girls played beauty salon! What an amazing daddy they have! Doesn't he make a beautiful girl?

Swimming lessons

Tyleigh

The girls decided to teach their own version of swimming lessons to Kaylee!

Two weeks of swimming lessons was exhausting for all of us, but all three girls did amazing and improved drastically! All three will move up a level next summer, and Camryn and Carsyn are all but ready to try out for swim team! I am so proud of them - and they are so proud of themselves! They worked really hard this year! Camryn mastered the breast stroke and back stroke, and her diving looks great! Carsyn nailed the free-style swim, dolphin kick, and breast stroke this year! They both have so much competitive blood in them (I don't know where they get it from, honest!) that every time they had a relay against class members, they would win! Their teachers about died laughing because they would swim so slow the whole class, and then turn it on for every race! Way to go girls!
Camryn and Carsyn decided to take it upon themselves to teach their cute cousin Kaylee how to swim just like them! They were excellent teachers, and she was just happy to be in the water! We definitely have some mermaid blood in our family!

Boondock's

A little summer entertainment at Boondock's! They're all going to follow in their daddy's footsteps!

Look at her awesome technique on that club!
Tyleigh was so excited to get the ball in the hole!
Trying to cool down!
What a cute little golfer!

Cabela's

Who can resist the hours of entertainment that a bunch of stuffed, dead animals offer??? Us either!

A little summer CRAZINESS!

This summer is going by SO fast, and it seems like we are constantly busy! Just a few of the things we've been up to . . .

*Rod and I went to Youth Conference, and the girls got to stay with Grams and Papa . . . where they got spoiled rotten as usual! They got to see UP and the play of Beauty and the Beast, which is now their most favorite thing in the whole world! Thank you Mom and Dad!

*We celebrated our favorite Dad's and Grandpa's on Father's Day! We are grateful to the incredible men in our lives! We love you all!

*Pretending to be monkeys at the park!

*We got to participate in our city celebration days, which is something we look forward to every year. We had picnics and barbecues at the park, spent lots of time at our local museum watching puppet shows, magic shows, bird shows, etc., and ended the week with the horse parade, miniature float parade, and the grand parade! Our ward had a committee that created an amazing float that won the Sweepstakes Prize! Camryn and Carsyn had so much fun being a part of the parade, and Tyleigh and my cute niece had a blast watching for them - as well as catching a full bag of candy!

*Lots of swimming (post and pictures to come!)

*Selling more snowcones!

*Another trip to the dentist for Carsyn with another infection in her mouth. I thought someone else should get "Mother of the Year" Award this time, so I took her in before her whole face blew up. She got a wonderful dose of antibiotics, and no teeth pulled! (Knock on Wood!)

*Beautiful - and very long -marathon training runs with great friends and "therapists"!

*Firework shows that were beyond amazing!

. . . And to think that we still have another month plus of all this fun!

Girls' Night Out

Our Relief Society put together a fun night for just the girls. Since that's mostly what we're made up of, it was a perfect night for us! It was a night for all ages, with activities for each of us, and the girls and I had a blast being on our special date! Love you girls!

Provo River Run

I couldn't figure out how to run with my camera, so no pictures this time, but I did have to write about our amazing race on Saturday! It was the Provo River 10 mile trail run, and it was absolutely gorgeous! The weather could not have been more perfect, and I got my best time in four years thanks to a huge push from some great friends! Leesa, who is just an amazing runner came in 4th in our age group at 1:12, and cute Stephanie and I tied for 6th and 7th place in our age group at 1:15. That put us at a 7:32 pace! Jill took 5th in her age group (the much younger one) at 1:18. I have to admit that I was so proud of all of us! We have worked so hard this summer to improve our running, and it was so fun to finally have it pay off! Thank you, ladies, for the incredible run, encouragement, and friendship! Here's to the next race!
